We’re upfront about what we put in our Victoria premium pasta sauces. Just pick up a jar, and it’s all there to see on the front of the label: antioxidant-rich 100% Italian tomatoes, heart-healthy imported olive oil, fresh garlic, fresh basil, fresh onions. No preservatives, water or added sugar.
All great movies, novels, and romances begin with something. Our velvety smooth sauce begins with perfect plum tomatoes, which slow simmer to the perfect refined consistency. We work directly with farmers in Italy, who ensure that all the tomatoes going into our sauces are of the highest quality. Cooked tomatoes release larger amounts of lycopene, an antioxidant shown to help prevent illnesses like cancer and heart disease. It’s a lovely start to a meal that’s truly nourishing.
Fresh Basil & Onions
You wouldn’t cook with dehydrated garlic or onion powder, so neither do we. The best flavors and health benefits come from fresh sources, so we use fresh garlic, onion, and basil. Our basil is sourced locally right here in our backyard: Brooklyn, New York. We visit the Brooklyn Terminal Market to find the freshest basil plants. The leaves are then hand-selected and chopped. Expect nothing less.
Garlic is what gives our sauce extra flavor. Not only that, but it’s so beneficial to the human body, it’s been used as a natural medicinal ingredient for centuries. Research shows that garlic, full of antioxidants and antibacterial properties, is great for internal health—it can aid the immune system by fighting against infections and cancer, as well as the circulatory system by helping to prevent high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart disease.
We use only fresh olive oil, which contains vitamins A, D, E and K. It’s a diet staple in the Mediterranean region, known for extremely low rates of heart disease and the highest adult life expectancies. Olive oil is also an Omega-3 polyunsaturated fat: a “good fat” said to help lower “bad”cholesterol, promote mental acuity, and enhance brain development.
